Perhaps the most well-known painter of the Taos art colony, Fechin actually lived at Taos for only six years after first visiting in 1926. Many artists living in Taos today emulate his dynamic application of paint. Fechin’s daughter, Eya, posed for this painting just before they moved to California in 1933.
Gift of the James D. Hamlin Collection. Viewable in the PPHM Southwestern Gallery.
