The gunboats Paluma and Gayundah stranded in the Botanic Gardens during the 1893 flood

Only a few years after entering service in October 1884, the flat-iron gunboat HMQS Paluma was left stranded in the Botanic Gardens during the first 1893 February flood event. In the background we can see Queensland’s second gunboat, the Gayundah.
