The circular Herb Garden is full of scents and colour from flowering fennel, chives, marigolds, borage, tansy and sage. The heavily carved corinthian capital on the right is one of four in this garden which came originally from Downhill, the Palladian mansion built in the 1770s for the eccentric Frederick Hervey, 4th Earl of Bristol and Lord Bishop of Derry. Downhill was demolished in the late 1940s.
