Antonie Mogos's house, a peasant from Ceauru village, Gorj County, discovered and acquired by the first manager of the museum, Alexandru Tzigara-Samurcas - was from the very beginning enthusiastically admired for the artistry of its construction. It was displayed as a challenge, in a pavilion like museum, a house placed in a house, the dwelling became an object of display, and people took photos of it, drew it, it was present in the photo albums of the time, even the royal family and people from the court came to see it, briefly speaking - it became an argument of the romantic discourse of the time, which praised the national artistic genius.
