Jeram Patel was an abstract artist and founder member of the short-lived artist collective, Group 1890 in Baroda. His works often feature dense, dark abstract shapes that float against a stark canvas. Early in his career, he experimented with various techniques, such as using a blowtorch on wood to burn it and then creating engravings on it. The process ultimately led to health complications, following which he shifted to creating works on paper and canvas.
