Avro's industrial autoclave in operation. This machine was used to provide heat for metal bonding.

Magnesium taped to aluminum, wrapped in a polyvinyl bag with a vacuum attachment, was fed into the autoclave. Pressure moulded the magnesium to the shape of the aluminum. The two metre diameter tank was 5.5 metres long, and pressure-cooked banded assemblies at 100 p.s.i. and 175°C. The tank was designed to handle all CF-105 bonding.
