"Marija Šlapelienė's Lithuanian bookstore in Vilnius. Established on February 6, 1906, at house number 13, on a street previously known as St. John and Blagoveshchenskaya and Daminykonų. Now (1972) the street is called Garelio, and the house number is 11. The buildings, an architectural monument. Photo copy - the inside of the bookstore - 1931, when the 25th anniversary of the bookstore's operation was celebrated. The bookstore's book collections were donated to "Knygų rūmai" and taken away in July 1949. In the photo, seated is Juozas Kairiūkštis - educator. Standing is Dr. D. Alseika. Behind the counter are M. Šlapelienė and Dr. Jurgis Šlapelis. Here, we distributed literature and participated in public and cultural activities. To the LTSR Knygų rūmai from M. Šlapelienė. Retired.
