Works on the polychrome designed by Jan Matejko. A special place in the collection is occupied by the polychrome design cards for St. Mary's Church in Krakow. Work on the project to restore the Gothic basilica was a decisive moment in the career of his most talented students: Stanisław Wyspiański and Józef Mehoffer. In a broader context, the activity of Jan Matejko contributed to a renewed interest in wall painting in the work of his successors. Matejko designed and supervised the implementation works in the presbytery (in the years 1889 – 1890) and in the main nave (1890 – 1891).
