Cast in the lost-wax method, the sculpture consists of a flat circular basin with a female figure, dressed in a long and elaborately draped garment, standing on the rim of the basin. A turtle with head and tail raised high stands opposite the figure on the rim. Both the figure and the turtle were cast separately and attached to the basin after casting.
