Chiswick House is an early 18th century villa and garden, largely the design of the third Earl of Burlington who from 1723 incorporated ideas and designs by William Kent. It was developed on the site of an earlier house and pleasure grounds. The Italian Garden was laid out by Lewis Kennedy in 1814.
