This painting comes from the Parish of San Lorenzo in Zaragoza. It was found in the square with the same name in the vicinity of the current San Pedro Nolasco Church. As well as the main altarpiece, the interior contained seven more altarpieces for the side chapels and one of these was dedicated to Saint Apollonia. Documents tell us that Pedro Rigalte created an image with the saint in the center, and a crucifix with the Virgin and Saint John at the top. Pertús produced scenes from the saint's life, plus three panels depicting stories from the Passion of Jesus.
