Skokloster Castle

The Skokloster collection include a great deal of cutlery. These are unique in that they were only used by King Charles XIV John when he was in Norway. Between 1814 and 1905, during the time of the union between Sweden and Norway, the Swedish king was also the king of Norway. In order to emphasize the difference between these two regencies, the majesty and his court usually changed uniforms and equipment when passing the border.
