Small sword carried by King Gustav IV Adolf on 13 March 1809 at the coup-d’état when he was dethroned. The weapon is based upon the early 18th Century officer’s type but decorated by the King’s wishes. The right side of the blade is decorated with (from the hilt) a cross of St Georg (the main symbol for the Swedish Order of Freemasons) and the minor Royal escutcheon.
