The Lady's Magazine or, entertaining companion for the fair sex was a publication which filled a gap in the market by being 'expressly designed for (women's) amusement and improvement'. Along with news and reviews, it was also the first to include fashion features and included a compendium of other features and writings. It was a popular magazine of the time and is still recognised as an influential women's magazine.
