The large swimming pool at the Health Hydro, Milton Road, Swindon

Originally the Great Western Railway (GWR) Medical Fund Baths and Dispensary, the Health Hydro includes two swimming pools. The larger was initially for men, the smaller for women and children.

The Health Hydro was built in 1891-2 to designs by Swindon architect JJ Smith. It brought the various provisions of the GWR Medical Fund under one roof.
