In the small corridor running parallel to the 19th-century room, Cerruti left chronological coherence to make way for a dialogue with works of the 20th century. Of particular importance in the corridor are two masterpieces by Andy Warhol: The Poet and His Muse (1982) and a fascinating portrait of the model and later fashion house chief executive Hélène Rochas (1974), a stunning work in sharp contrast to the others in the basement.
