The second door from the left of the Duomo is the work of Giannino Castiglioni (Milan, 4 May 1884 - lIerna, 72 August 1971) and was inaugurated in 1950, December 7th. The door tells of the life of Saint Ambrose, Bishop and Patron Saint of Milan. The panels illustrate some relevant episodes from the life of the Saint, including The Baptism, The Episcopal Consecration, The Death, and The Apparition in 1339 during the Battle of Parabiagio.
