In "The Little Girls", a youthful work, the expressiveness of the faces of the characters, rendered in various attitudes and moods, and investigated through individual signs, is striking while the landscape, just mentioned, uses wider backgrounds. The range of colours varies in a spectrum of mineral shades ranging from lime white to ivory, from pale pink to the warmer ranges of quartz and coral, from grey to very clear amethyst and lavender violets. It is noteworthy the introspective reading of the subjects represented, the elegant timbral pace, the musical cadence of lights and shadows. The painting gives us an image of childhood that appears at times carefree and innocent, at times restless and reflective.
