The frieze below the portrait of former Prime Minister Poul Nyrup Rasmussen shows sheep, goats, and young cattle bleating, chewing the cud, and defacating. This very likely reflects the artist’s attitudes towards the Landsting, i.e. the Upper Chamber, and it’s conservative role as protector of the status quo in relation to the Folketing.
