Now called the Lewis and Clark Bridge, this cantilever bridge spans the Columbia River, connecting Longview, Washington and Rainier, Oregon.
A cantilever bridge is constructed using supports, such as trusses, that project above the water. The weight of the bridge is supported by both compression and tension. Cantilever bridges can be extremely long, and are used all around the world.
