This early color illustration shows a view of the Lower Town and the river as well as the area of the future Dufferin Terrace. A soldier accompanied by a lady and a dog are standing on this wall and looking at the river. Two other soldiers are standing behind and observing in the same direction, while on the opposite side, a few goats are walking on the cliffside. The Château Saint-Louis, the Governor's residence, can be seen in the background (centre).
