Photograph of the production of The Magnificent Lovers (Les Amants Magnifiques). This photo shows the first interlude. Emerging from the water, river gods, tritons, and cupids sing in celebration of Eriphile and Aristione ("Not even our mother, the most beautiful of the immortals, is so alluring" ("La plus belles des immortelles,/Notre mère, a bien moins d’appas")). Coral fishers give way to Neptune, who has come in person to pay homage to the two princesses. The choreography was designed by Marie-Geneviève Massé with dancers from the L'éventail company.
