The gardens at Plas Brondanw were created by architect Clough Williams Ellis over nearly 70 years. A life-sized bust of the Emperor Augustus, of white marble on a similar column with base, faces the seventeenth century house. At its foot, a segmental polished slate plaque is inscribed: 'The Emperor Augustus from the collection of General Boneparte', presumably the Emperor Napoleon Bonaparte.
