The bronze sculpture of The man with the donkey shows a soldier from the Medical Corps transporting
a wounded colleague to a casualty clearing station.This statue was commissioned in 1935 by the Australian Red Cross Society and symbolises the valour and compassion of Australian soldiers. Sculpted by Wallace Anderson, the statue was moved to the Shrine Reserve in 1968.
