The Marching Bands in the Good Friday Procession

Music has accompanied the Good Friday Procession in Mendrisio for centuries, setting its pace and enhancing its solemn atmosphere. Today, four marching bands, including the Mendrisio Civic Band, perform at different points along the procession, accompanying the participants and sacred statues with ceremonial music. During the evening procession, the musicians illuminate their sheet music with small lights, creating a striking scene through the historic streets of the town.
