Parallel to beginning documentation and research work, the MHPJ planning team started looking for designers who could deliver a narrative multimedia exhibition. In 1999, following a visit by Jerzy Halbersztadt, the MHPJ project director, and Marian Turski, chair of the Museum Council, to the In Flanders Fields Museum in Ypres, Belgium, the London-based company Event Communications, authors of the Ypres Museum exhibition, were invited to discuss potential cooperation. The official commencement of design works was only made possible in 2001 thanks to a donation from the Polonia Aid Foundation Trust for the design process.
