The Mogao Cave Buddha Niche Stele

In the first year of the Shengli era of the Wu Zhou Dynasty (698), the monk Liaokuo stood at Cave 332 in the Mogao Caves. In 1921, it was broken by the White Army of Tsarist Russia; the lower half of the stone stele remains in the dunhuangResearch Institute.
