The third volume in a series, The Moving Finger sought to show the general public a "cooperative school in which everyone does his share" within the walls of Valena C. Jones Normal and Practice School, where Fannie C. Williams served as principal. Within its pages, one glimpses into the life of the Nursery, Practice, and Normal schools and their interdependence to better their students, whether children in the nursery or those who were about to embark upon a teaching career. Amongst the sponsors of The Moving Finger were Mrs. Gertrude Geddes-Willis, the People's Industrial Life Insurance Company of Louisiana, and photographer Villard Paddio.
