The National University "Ostroh Academy"

National University ""Ostroh Academy"" is located in Ostroh, Rivne Region. This is the first educational and scientific institution in Ukraine – it was founded in 1576. The archimandrite of the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra, Elisei Pletenetsky, who founded a paper mill for the needs of Orthodox book printing in Radomyshl used to study here. Another famous graduate of the Ostroh Academy - Hetman and Otaman of the Zaporozhian Sich – Petro Konashevych-Sahaidachny.
