… Because I only love simplicity. However, I do understand that luxury goods, true luxury goods, are crucial to the country’s economy and lives of thousands of workers who will not have anything else to provide themselves otherwise.
Let’s welcome the inventive (and lucky) idea of this woman, whose artistic imagination is filled with charming combinations and blends. I need to mention one thing, though: the author about whom I am talking has invited an assistant — another artist who is already well-known — Léon Bakst, who created costumes for Russian ballets, lending them furiously powerful colors.
The Orient with its chaos of lines and colors, with its sharp tones, paraded in front of me, provoking surprise, but being a delight for my eyes with the shining of colors that simmer in his sketches. But we should be cautions playing with these shades transferred to garments worn by Parisian women. (Cont’d on page 10)

Admirable elegance
In this set, the skirt is made of patterned chiseled cloth of brown-grey shades, as the bag. The belt and collar are made of lilac taffeta, the lilac taffeta capote is decorated with brown-grey; the top of the blouse and bottom of the sleeves is made of brown-grey crepe. The straw hat is brown-grey, with black feathers.
