The Newfooty Game was the original finger-flicking table football game, set up long before Subbuteo by William Lane Keeling in Liverpool in 1929. Newfooty was a serious business and founded its own 'Newfooty Players Association' (NPA) in 1934 to allow players to take part in Leagues and Cup competitions. It continued until 1957, when it was bought out by its great rival, Subbuteo.
