The Old Rathaus, "Wolff‘scher Bau"

This monumental-feeling design bears witness to Neubauer's admiration for the Renaissance, when Nuremberg achieved the high point in its history. The entrance, like the rest of the building, was constructed by Jakob Wolff the Elder in the 16th century. As a reconstruction, this is one of the great achievements in the successful rebuilding of Nuremberg's Old Town. In 1970, St. Sebald's Church, opposite the entry portal, was still a construction site.
