Postcard with view of a woman standing on a raised wooden platform in an arched window alcove. The arch is labeled "M. Barnett Office 40 St. Louis St." The woman wears a blouse, skirts, and a cloth head-wrap. A printed caption superimposed on the image identifies her as a formerly enslaved woman who had been sold from the same platform when she was young. The reverse of the postcard is inscribed with a message to Mrs. W. F. Oatman in Dundee, Ill. and bears a one cent George Washington postage stamp cancelled with a February 10, 1914 New Orleans postmark.
