No painting has shaped our Bach picture as much as the portrait Elias Gottlob Haußmann created of the Thomaskantor. In the treasure chamber of the Bach Museum, the original from 1748 (right in the picture) is juxtaposed with a copy from the 19th century. In the middle of the room, changing autograph music manuscripts from the collection of the Bach Archive are shown.
