The Painter Delâtre

Eugène Delâtre, a renowned Montmartre printer, collaborated with numerous artists such as Gauguin and Henri Rivière. It was probably in this context that he met Pierre Cavellat, the artist behind this caricature. The caricature depicts Delâtre smoking, his face tired and his appearance disheveled, a stark contrast to the elegance of his self-portraits.
