‘The People’s Gnome’ was created in 2000 by Heather Forrester, and is part of a collection depicting prominent British politicians of the time. In an interview with the New York Times, Forrester said ‘The People’s Gnome’ was the most popular in the collection. He has a wide grin and sliver spade embedded with the crowned portcullis, the emblem of both Houses of Parliament.
