For the ninth consecutive year Materadio, Rai Radio 3 festival returns!
This is a date with the city which over time, has become more and more meaningful. Over the past nine years there have been many changes and each edition has been a "snapshot" of the goals it has achieved and of those that have yet to be achieved , as well as an opportunity to ponder with the radio hosts and guests on key issues.
The importance of a voice from the South has been highlighted more significantly in 2019 with the theme chosen for the party, the “Souths”, as well as with the series of "Matera Lectures" which, throughout the year have accompanied us towards the festival that took place last September.
Although the South may have a precise geographical connotation, it actually turns out to be relative, as we are all North or South of another place at the same time. Therefore, from the physical element we move on to thought, to philosophy that can be transformed into action and deal with themes such as ecological sustainability, but also with ethical and social issues, as highlighted by Aboubakar Soumahoro who has been fighting for the rights of emigrants and new laborers for years: "I come from a family that has always safeguarded wealth, which is not only meant as the management of tangible assets, but also as a spiritual heritage that allows us to say I am not poor because I believe that poverty can have several meanings ”.
