The Philosophers

The Studio’s decoration, initially given to Cecco Bravo, remained unfinished as a result of some disagreements emrged between the painter and the client. The rest of the scenes, having as their object the Florentine illustrious men, therefore were entrust to the painters Matteo Rosselli and Domenico Pugliani. Half of the eastern facade of the room focuses on the representation of Philosophers and was carried out by Pugliani. Between the illustrious men portrayed Michelangelo the Younger describes Carlo Marsuppini and Marsilio Ficino.
