The city of Barcelona is fighting to achieve more sustainable tourism. Each tourist in Barcelona pollutes 96.9 kg of CO2 per day, an environmental footprint equivalent to leaving a 6.4-watt LED light bulb on for four years in a row, or driving a car for 410 kilometers without stopping. The great part of the emissions corresponds to the means of transport, especially the plane.
