The Portrait of a Girl

The small marble bust portrays Minatia Polla, a young aristocrat dead around 40 AD. The portrait was found, along with the urn containing her ashes, inside a monumental tomb discovered in 1880 on the banks of the river Tiber at Ponte Sisto and rebuilt inside the Diocletian's Baths.
