The Redwing (Turdus iliacus) is slightly smaller than a song thrush and is mainly breeding in nortern Europe and in North- and east Siberia. The preferred habitats are deciduous forests, mixed forests and coniferous forests with thick treetops. It can also be spotted in Cityparks and gardens. Their main food sources are earthworms, insects, various fruit, berries and sallow thorn. The displayed preparation comes from the collection of Ernst Gloyer.
