When talking about the Renaissance one cannot but associate this historical period with Florence and all those Italian cities in central and northern Italy which in those years gave so much to the artistic and cultural heritage of our country.
But what if we change our perspective? If we looked at the Renaissance from just the South, what would we discover?

This was the challenge taken on by Marta Ragozzino, Pierluigi Leone de Castris, Matteo Ceriana and Dora Catalano, who created of one of the most beautiful exhibitions ever seen in Italy, and was awarded the Medal of the President of the Italian Republic after only three weeks.
There are over 180 works from the collections of the most prestigious Italian and European museums, symbolising an eclectic culture which never forgets its origins: portraits and sculptures, maps and navigational charts, all take part in a game of connections made up of cultural exchanges and influences, at the meeting point between the Renaissance and the Mediterranean. A story like this has never been told before.
