Nilo Peçanha is received in a Masonic lodge during the Republican Reaction campaign. Nilo was an active member of Freemasonry and came to occupy the highest position: 33rd degree, Grand Master General of the Grand Orient of Brazil. Freemasonry gave strong support to the campaign.
