This work by KIM Hongshik (1962- ) is his visual, autobiographical essay produced from the perspective of the flâneur who observes and records the urban spaces and their surroundings and consists of seven cityscapes. Echoing the sceneries of the centers of the cities he experienced such as Seoul and Beijing, this work facilitates one’s imagination of viewing those spectacular high-rises from the top of the Tower of Babel. As an urban spectator, the artist is looking down the glitzy glamour of city streets.
