View of the Royal Barracks in Dublin from across the River Liffey. The fields in the foreground are now part of the Guinness Brewery. The Royal Barracks was renamed Collins Barracks in 1922, in honour of Michael Collins, then Commander-in-Chief of the National Army, who was killed in August 1922 during the Irish Civil War. It is now home to the National Museum of Ireland, Decorative Arts and History.
