The School of Red Clerics

Having trained with Salvatore Lo Forte at the Nude Academy in Palermo and under the influence of the painter Salvatore Marchesi, Giannone depicted one of the most characteristic themes of his production on this canvas. The representation of interior environments of churches shows precise details and a solid perspective approach with a close-up on the red clerics, who took that name from the colour of their tunics.
