The Scottish Cup is the oldest national football trophy in the world and was first competed for in season 1873/74. The trophy and a set of medals were purchased at a cost of £56.65 from Glasgow firm, George Edwards and Sons. Queen's Park were the first winners of the trophy in 1874.
