A portrait, oil on canvas, of Donough MacCarty (1594-1665), 2nd Viscount Muskerry (became Earl of Clancarty in 1658). The artist is unknown. The Viscount is standing, in full armour with a curtain half-drawn behind him and a castle is visible in the distance. He wears a long wig with a lace cravat at the neck and carries a walking-stick with a silver-gilt top in his hand. Around his waist he wears a gold and blue sash. The painting is set in a gilt wooden frame.
