The siege of Florence

In the painting there is “Florence as seen from the side of the mountains, and measured in such a way that slightly differs from reality”. The view offers a look on the city of Florence in the years 1529-1530, during the siege by the imperial troops, followed by the fall of the Republic and the creation of the Duchy of Tuscany.
