Singphos constitute an ethnic community of north-east India. This is a photograph of a Singpho village called Lewang, located in Miao sub-division of Changlang district of eastern Arunachal Pradesh. The Singpho women traditionally wear gorgeous attires. Their typical dress includes a wrap-around skirt, and a top with a fabric belt, which is tied around the waist over the skirt. During festivities, the women wear a black jacket with silver decorations on it.The older women wear white tops. The community can be identified with their typical chequered headgear made of cloth.
